Sharjah Chamber records 12% growth in the number of memberships
Sharjah on August 4 / WAM / The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry achieved a remarkable performance and positive growth indicators during the first half of 2025, reflecting the efforts made by the Chamber to support the business environment and investment in the Emirate of Sharjah, where the total number of memberships registered with the Chamber reached more than 37 thousand memberships, an increase of more than 12% compared to the same period from 2024, which recorded 33 thousand memberships.
The value of exports and re -exports according to the certificates of origin issued by the Chamber amounted to about 11 billion dirhams, while the Chamber issued during the first half of the current year 41294 certificates of origin with a growth rate of 6%, to prove the Emirate of Sharjah through these indicators its capabilities in attracting specific investments and its position as an ideal platform for growth and expansion in all economic sectors and an attractive destination for regional and international trade.
The data of the certificates of origin issued by the Sharjah Chamber showed during the first half of this year, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia topped the list of countries importing from Sharjah, where the value of exports and exports to it reached more than 5.9 billion dirhams, which reflects the strength of trade relations between the two sides and the status of Sharjah as a major resource for Gulf markets. The Sultanate of Oman ranked second with a value exceeding 1.6 billion dirhams, followed by Iraq, with a value of more than 1.5 billion dirhams, while the list of the most prominent export markets included Qatar, the United Kingdom, Egypt, Ethiopia, Kuwait and India.
His Excellency Abdullah Sultan Al -Owais, Chairman of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, stressed that the performance indicators for the first half of 2025 reflected the results of an integrated work strategy implemented by the Sharjah Chamber according to the directives and vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah aimed at enhancing Sharjah’s position as a sustainable and evolving economic center.
He pointed out that the growth of the number of memberships during the first half of this year is a positive indication of the increasing confidence by investors in the business environment in Sharjah, as well as the investment climate that the emirate and its attractiveness for businessmen and investors through its incentive ingredients and motivational benefits that made Sharjah a major business center and a delicate destination for investments.
For his part, His Excellency Mohamed Ahmed Amin Al -Awadi, Director General of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, pointed out that the positive indicators achieved by the Chamber during the first half of 2025 come within the framework of effective implementation of the Sharjah Chamber strategy for the years 2025-2027, which focuses on enabling the emirate’s economy and entrepreneurship, supporting the business community and enhancing the competitiveness of the private sector and providing a supportive business environment and stimulating growth and investment.
He pointed out that the registered growth in the number of memberships reflects the success of the Chamber in developing its services and enhancing its presence as a major center for entrepreneurs and investors, through qualitative initiatives aimed at empowering business and expanding local and international partnerships and supporting expansion plans for foreign markets in a way that enhances Sharjah’s position as an integrated economic and commercial center at the region level, stressing that the diversity of economic and commercial sectors in addition to facilities and investment incentives in Sharjah It contributed to continuing the growth of members of the Chamber and attracting large companies to invest in various fields.
