Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi meets the Minister of Higher Education and Egyptian Scientific Research

Sharjah on August 16 / WAM / His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, President of Sharjah University, met today, His Excellency Dr. Muhammad Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the Arab Republic of Egypt, at the Ministry’s headquarters in the new administrative capital area.

His Highness conveyed the greetings of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, expressing his pride in the distinguished relations that bring together the United Arab Emirates and the Emirate of Sharjah in particular and the Arab Republic of Egypt, praising His Highness the fruitful cooperation in the fields of academic and scientific research, and in a way that contributes to supporting the march of higher education in the two brotherly countries.

His Highness appreciated the efforts of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Egypt and its support to establish the branch of Sharjah University in Cairo Governorate, stressing that His Highness is one of the best universities in the Arab world, and that the choice of Egypt as the first country to establish a branch is due to Egypt’s scientific and academic status with the Emirate of Sharjah.

For his part, His Excellency Dr. Ayman Ashour, President of Sharjah University, welcomed the depth of Egyptian -Emirati relations, expressing Egypt’s aspiration to expand these relations by strengthening academic and research partnerships between the two countries.

His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Egyptian Scientific Research pointed out the importance of supporting academic and research cooperation between Egyptian educational institutions and their Emirati counterparts, stressing the need to strengthen communication channels between the two sides, with the aim of opening broader horizons for the scientific partnership that serves the priorities of the two countries and contributes to building human capabilities.

His Highness the President of Sharjah University and His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Egyptian Scientific Research discussed ways to enhance academic cooperation between Sharjah University and Egyptian higher education institutions, opportunities to exchange academic experiences and faculty members, and launch joint academic programs that are in the interest of students and keep pace with the requirements of the labor market.

The meeting discussed the opportunities for student visits between the University of Sharjah and the Egyptian universities with its various academic programs, allowing students to see various educational experiences, and participate in academic and cultural activities that enhance their scientific and personal experiences.

The meeting also discussed the expansion of the horizons of cooperation in the field of scientific research, through many proposed areas such as implementing joint research projects, organizing specialized conferences and workshops, in order to support innovation and cognitive production and contribute to finding solutions to societal and scientific challenges.

The meeting was attended by His Highness the President of Sharjah University and His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Mansour bin Nassar, Head of the Legal Department of the Sharjah Government, and a member of the Board of Trustees of Sharjah University, Hassan Yaqoub Al -Mansouri, Secretary General of the Sharjah Media Council, Dr. Hamid Mujul Al -Nuaimi, Advisor to the President of Sharjah University, and from the Egyptian side, Dr. Abdel Wahab Ezzat, Secretary of the Council of Private Universities, and Dr. Mohamed El Sharqawi, Assistant Minister for Economic Policy Dr. Adel Abdel Ghaffar, media advisor and spokesperson for the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
