“Peace be upon strength” determines the vision of Europe’s leaders of the end of the war in Ukraine

The vision of Europe, which is to end the war in Ukraine, can be reduced to “peace through power”, but the question now is that it is just a vision only or is it true.
And Europe considered, for years, the war between Ukraine and Russia as an existential threat to its security, for this it provided Ukraine with military and financial aid, in the hope of transforming and strengthening its power to be able to protect itself.
But this conversion has always been a goal that can be achieved in the long run, and indicates the urgency of the US President, Donald Trump, to reach a peace agreement with Russia, indicates that Europe faces critical times. Is it ready to provide force to ensure the necessary security? Will the Europeans abandon their cautious style and present the military forces of Ukraine as a security guarantee, even in light of the risks of losing lives and confronting political anger at home?
“It is a fundamental question,” said Rafael Los, a researcher at the European Council for Foreign Affairs, said: “The Europeans do not want to sacrifice their lives for the Ukrainians.”
Since the beginning of the war, European policy has been conservative, very afraid of the response that Russian President Vladimir Putin may make, and the Europeans show a lot of selfishness, although the Ukrainians form the first line of defense of Europe.
Europe imposed economic sanctions during the past three years, which weakened the purchase of Russian energy, and helped Ukraine by providing it with defense equipment.
But European leaders have always been accused of negligence, and they do not provide enough aid and weapons to Ukraine, and they are not doing much to prevent the defrauding economic sanctions against Russia, and the money in European banks that help Russia.
And they still intend to repeat the same thing. Last week, when the Ukrainian President’s plane, Voludmir Zellinski, landed in Brussels, to meet with his allies, then riding the plane heading to Washington, European Union leaders announced their insistence on continuing economic pressure and issuing the 19 penalty packages on Russia next month.
“The alliances will help Ukraine to become (steel”, in reference to the establishment of the defense industrialization complex in the country, “said UNHCR, UNRSO Von der Line.
The idea of this approach lies in a number of penalties packages, and there is no reason to believe that another round of economic sanctions can discourage Russia from occupying more Ukrainian lands, and strengthening the local Ukrainian arms industry will help contain the long -term situation, but it will take years, and it is not sufficient to force Moscow to end its war in a short time.
Some Europeans whispered on August 18th, during a meeting at the White House, in President Trump’s ear that they are ready to deploy forces in Ukraine, but in reality these plans are still not ready, as the discussion continues on the quality of the soldiers who will be deployed, numbered, and from which country will be deployed.
There has been a storm of meetings since the return of the European leaders from Washington, with the aim of determining the future of the future security guarantees of Ukraine.
France and the United Kingdom were at the forefront of what was called the “coalition of those who wish”, a group of 30 countries that participate in monitoring any future peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine, where a few of them offer the possibility of deploying forces on the ground, and the idea faces many challenges, and none of the major powers feel that it is strong enough to face the Kremlin signs of intervention before the Kremlin signed the ceasefire agreement, and most European countries expect a form of American interference in this Conflict.
Paris and London confirmed that the end of hostilities is a necessary condition, while French President Emmanuel Macron, who was the first to propose the idea of deploying European soldiers on the ground, said that European forces will be deployed in the “strategic sites” in Ukraine, and not in all lines of contact with Russia.
Since meeting at the White House, the head of the Estonia government confirmed that his country is ready to “deploy its soldiers on the ground”, and Denmark and Norway expressed their interest in the deployment of a group of soldiers if peace was reached, and the United Kingdom that leads the “common exploration force”, a group of NATO (NATO), includes 10 countries that can be published to support the “NATO”, that it is also ready to participate.
Finland, a part of the exploratory force, expressed her unwillingness to deploy its soldiers, but she wants to keep its soldiers on its borders with Russia, which is about 1340 km long, and Poland refused to send its soldiers to protect Ukraine.
Even countries such as Germany and Italy seemed not ready to deploy their forces, and the director of the Brussels Office, an expert at the German Institute for International Affairs and Security, Andre Hartl said: “It has not been well considered well about the idea of sending soldiers, and I do not think that the German parliament will agree to it.”
Germany has always talked about the lack of soldiers, and said that it is struggling to fulfill its obligations to the NATO, and that one is a soldier who has no glorious connotations in Germany, where peaceful tendency remains, and many people oppose war.
But the main reason that made Germany oppose sending its soldiers to the war areas is the absence of the United States, which can provide a large military force in the event of a deterioration with Russia.
Italy suggested a guarantee similar to the guarantee of the “NATO”, which includes the United States, but proposed the deployment of forces inside Ukraine, or the participation of the allies in the fighting fighting. The idea includes providing a clause for collective security, which will be activated only if Russia begins fighting, and the Italian Undersecretary, Giovanbsta Vazoulari, told the Italian press: “This will be more acceptable by Russian President Putin.”
The British politician of Bulgarian origin, Julian Bubov, said he was completely sure that European soldiers will not be deployed in the battlefield in Ukraine, but he added: “This was not required.”
Bubov pointed out that the use of drones (Drones) has changed the results in the battlefield in Ukraine, adding: “The nature of the war and the techniques in which they are used in an accelerated way changes, to the extent that the matter is no longer related to sending tanks, planes and soldiers, but rather using very advanced technologies.”
Europeans may view an agreement that can lead to the end of the war in Ukraine, but it encourages Russia to attack other Eastern European countries, which is worse than the end of the war, but it will be increasingly clear that they will have a few ideas on how to achieve a good agreement before Trump loses his patience.
In any case, Ukraine will turn into a state in the line of confrontation for Europe, and its fate will remain unclear, and although the Trump administration is considering providing continuous support with intelligence and air support, Washington’s participation in this war will remain doubtful in the presence of a moody head.
