The “Green Hydrogen” project has produced 100 tons since 2021

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Diwa), Saeed Mohammed Al -Tayer, announced that the “green hydrogen” project has produced more than 100 tons of green hydrogen, since its launch in May 2021, at a time when most of this hydrogen was used to produce more than 1.15 GB of green energy, using a hydrogen gas engine, which contributed to reducing more than 515 tons of emissions Carbonia.
Al -Tayer indicated that about 11 tons of hydrogen were used in various sectors, including providing hydrogen cars with fuel via the “Enok” future service station in Expo Dubai.
According to the authority, the project has proven its fundamental role in consolidating the competitiveness of the UAE and the Emirate of Dubai, as the UAE achieved the first position in the competitiveness in the production of green hydrogen within the “green hydrogen report” for the year 2024 prepared by the “Alvarez and Marcel” company.
The “Green Hydrogen” project is the first of its kind in the Middle East and North Africa to produce hydrogen using solar energy, and the project – implemented by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority in cooperation with the “Expo 2020 Dubai” and “Siemens Energy” – produces about 20 kilograms of green hydrogen per hour.
In addition to the current uses, the “green hydrogen” station has been designed and built to be able to absorb future applications and test platforms for various uses of hydrogen, including energy production, air, land, sea and industry.
