Appointment of Dr. Engineer Majid Rasam Abdel -Malik, Dean of the Institute of Coptic Studies in Cairo
Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and the Patriarch of the See of St. Mark, issued a papal decision No. (7) of 2025 AD, appointing Dr. Eng. Majid Rasam Abdel -Malik as Dean of the Institute of Coptic Studies in Cairo, succeeding Dr. Ishaq Ajban. And the academic at the institute in all departments, with the participation of the faculty and administrators, especially since the institute is the only one specializing in Coptic studies in the Middle East, and it has been over the age of seventy years. Two sessions in the leadership of the institute, and all the achievements that were achieved during its period. The Institute in 1954 AD, that the General Milli Council’s decision was issued to approve its establishment on January 21, 1954, and the Ministry of Education agreed to establish its speech issued by the Department of Higher Education No. 1264 on July 10, 1955 and praised the idea of its establishment to serve the national history in the Christian era and fill the deficit in this field. Its creation is very interesting, and it was quick to send its scientists and researchers to it for joint scientific cooperation. The institute also works to serve the church, society and the homeland, on spiritual, scientific, research, and applied foundations. The institute works to communicate and coordinate with local and international scientific bodies specialized in the field of Coptic studies.
