During the meeting, Walid Jamal Al -Din indicated that the economic zone of the Suez Canal succeeded during the last period in attracting a large number of Chinese companies specialized in manufacturing the various components of renewable energy projects, in line with the Egyptian state’s directions to increase the percentage of electricity produced from renewable energy projects to 42 % of the total power mix by general solutions 2030.
During the meeting, review & nbsp; Khay Fi, Managing Director of the company & quot; Sun Reef Solar & quot; Details of the project to establish a factory to produce the components of solar energy projects in the Ain Sukhna region of the Suez Canal Economic Zone, noting that the project will be implemented in two phases. & Nbsp;
He said & quot; The first stage of the project will be devoted to the production of 2 GB of solar cells and 2 GB of solar units, with investments estimated at 100 million dollars, indicating that the production of this stage of the project will start in the first quarter of 2026. & nbsp; And 2 GB of silicone chips (Wifer Solar) that are used in the manufacture of solar cells. The production of the first stage can be exported or sold to the Egyptian government & LDQUO; in the Egyptian pound & rdquo; To take advantage of it in the solar energy projects implemented by the government, adding that there is another proposal that the company itself is building solar energy stations by using the components it produces in addition to other components produced by companies operating in the economic zone of the Suez Canal, then selling electricity produced from these stations to the Egyptian government. Discussing the proposals presented by the company, whether related to the purchase of the components produced by the company in the Egyptian pound or cooperating with the Chinese company in establishing solar energy stations and buying electricity produced from these stations. Providing financial offers for the proposals that were submitted during the meeting; The Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy is directed to discuss this matter with the Chinese company; Especially with regard to providing the necessary lands in the event of agreement on the proposal for the company building solar energy stations.
