The Foreign Minister values ​​the strategic relations between Egypt and France

Dr. Badr Abdel Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptian Affairs Abroad, valued the strategic relations between Egypt and France, expressing his aspiration to enhance economic and commercial cooperation and increase French investments in Egypt, as well as to enhance cooperation in various fields, most notably the sectors of industry, transportation, tourism, culture and education.

This came during a meeting with Dr. Badr Abdel Aty with Mrs. Claire Legendre" Advisor to the French President for Middle East Affairs today on the sidelines of the Sir Bani Yas Forum.

Minister Abdel-Aty also welcomed the imminent holding of the first round of strategic dialogue between the Egyptian and French Foreign Ministries.  Regarding developments in the Palestinian issue, the Minister of Foreign Affairs welcomed the French position in support of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, highlighting the efforts made by Egypt to consolidate the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.

He stressed the need for concerted international efforts to ensure the implementation of Security Council Resolution 2803 and the rapid formation of the International Stabilization Force in Gaza to carry out its responsibilities and tasks.

He noted the importance of continuing with the steps of forming a Palestinian technocratic committee to manage the Strip. Gaza.

He also stressed the importance of ensuring safe and unhindered access of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip in light of the deteriorating humanitarian conditions, stressing the importance of creating the political horizon to reach a just and sustainable settlement of the Palestinian issue through implementing the two-state solution and establishing an independent Palestinian state.

The situation in Sudan was also discussed during the meeting, where Minister Abdel Ati briefed the French official on the Egyptian efforts within the framework of the Quartet with the aim of achieving a ceasefire in It allows the launch of a comprehensive Sudanese political process, stressing the constants of the Egyptian position regarding protecting Sudan’s sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity, rejecting partition, and supporting state institutions.

He stressed the need to unify regional and international efforts to advance the path of calm and reach a ceasefire and access to humanitarian aid.

The Foreign Minister was keen to inform the French official of the results of his recent visit to Lebanon, stressing Egypt’s firm position that refuses to undermine Lebanon’s sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity, as well as On supporting national institutions to fully carry out their responsibilities in maintaining the security and stability of Lebanon.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs stressed the need to prevent and contain escalation, and reject any violation of Lebanese sovereignty.
