Live broadcast .. The start of the Arab Islamic Summit in Doha

The emergency Arab Islamic Summit in Doha started on Monday to discuss a response to the unprecedented Israeli attack that targeted last week from Hamas in the Qatari capital.

The Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, said in the opening speech, that Doha “was assaulted,” describing him as “traveling and cowards.”

Sheikh Tamim considered that the aggression against Doha is “a serious violation of our sovereignty.”

According to the draft of a final statement seen by “Agence France Presse”, the meeting will confirm that the Israeli strike in Doha “undermines the chances of achieving peace and peaceful coexistence in the region and threatening everything that has been accomplished on the path of establishing normal relations with Israel, including existing and future agreements.”

The summit comes on a large -scale international condemnation of the Israeli attack.

The foreign ministers of the Arab and Islamic countries held a closed preparatory meeting on Sunday in Doha, in which they discussed a draft statement, also stressing “the concept of collective security and the common destiny (…) and the need to line up and confront common challenges and threats.”
