The Emirates Balance Council holds its first meeting with its new formation

Dubai, September 16/ WAM/ The Emirates Gender Balance Council held its first meeting with its new formation, which was recently adopted by the Council of Ministers headed by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, “may God bless him”, in the establishment of a new stage of achievements and the continuation of the council’s efforts to consolidate the gender balance in all sectors of the state and enhance its competitiveness globally, after the Council of Ministers’s decision to reorganize the council and enhance its strategic role.

The meeting dealt with the next action plan, which is based on the promotion of the principle of governance in the light of the new organizational structure, and the expected efforts of the federal authorities represented in the council were reviewed to achieve national targets on gender balance.
The decision, which was issued by the Council of Ministers last month headed by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, aims to expand the work of the Emirates Council for gender balance and enhance its impact through the development of legislative and regulatory frameworks supporting the efforts of gender balance in the government and private sectors, in line with the state’s directions and future visions, and enhances its position in the relevant global indicators.

The Council of Ministers had approved a decision to reshape the Emirates Balance Council headed by the campus of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the State, Prime Minister, President of the Presidency Bureau, Her Highness Sheikha Manal Bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
On the occasion of the council, Her Highness Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum said, “The first meeting of the council represents its new formation a new start of hard work in light of the expansion of its work and the expansion of its strategic roles. With this task and the new structure, we look forward to building on previous achievements and inspiring the radical change that enhances the gender balance in all areas of life. They are guided by seeing our rational leadership, We seek to make a sustainable impact, confirming that the UAE not only enhances opportunities locally, but also contributes to advancing regional and global progress that benefits future generations in light of prosperous societies and sustainable economies based on inclusion and diversity and benefit from everyone’s efforts equal.
The new council includes in its membership: His Excellency Younis Haji Al -Khoury, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance, His Excellency Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Saleh, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy, His Excellency Omar Al Shamsi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Hoda Al Hashemi, Assistant Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Strategy Affairs, His Excellency Noura Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Secretary -General of the General Women’s Union, His Excellency Al -Reem Al -Falasi, Secretary -General of the Supreme Council of Motherhood and Childhood, The Federal Human Resources, His Excellency Hanan Al Ahly, Director of the Federal Center for Competitiveness and Statistics, His Excellency Khaled Al -Harmudi, Assistant Secretary -General to support the cabinet affairs, His Excellency the share of perish, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Family, His Excellency Ahmed Al Nasser, Assistant Undersecretary for the Labor Market Policy Sector at the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, and His Excellency Moza Muhammad Al -Ghawi Al -Suwaidi, Secretary -General of the Emirates Council for Gender.
The meeting was chaired by His Excellency Mona Ghanem Al -Murri, Vice -President of the Emirates Council for Gender Balance, and reviewed the recent cabinet decisions regarding the reorganization of the Council, its formation and new structure, the assignment of the Council of Ministers, the amended Charter and members of the members in light of the increasing responsibilities of the Council.

The General Secretariat report was also reviewed for the council’s initiatives, efforts and achievements from October 2024 to September 2025, and development plans to enhance the UAE’s position in global indicators and reports through legislative and institutional improvements, integration and coordination with the federal authorities and the private sector and consolidate the environment supporting the gender balance in the governmental and private sectors at the state level, as well as the members participated in their plan to support the council’s efforts to enhance the balance between both sexes And emphasizing the priority and pillars of support of the state’s competitiveness globally.
His Excellency Mona Al -Murri said, “This meeting is the basic meeting of a new stage in the successful course of the Council. By harmonizing our work with the modified charter and assigning the Council of Ministers, and the diversity of the experiences of members and the new organizational structure, we enhance the principles of governance and coordinate efforts and cooperation as a basic pillar of achieving the positive impact of the Council and preserving the position of the UAE at the forefront of global efforts to achieve gender balance.”
Her Excellency affirmed the council’s keenness to intensify its efforts to continue its strategic mission by developing supportive policies, stimulating innovation and enhancing cooperation with local and international partners.
In turn, His Excellency Moza Al -Suwaidi, Secretary -General of the Emirates Council for Gender Balance, said, “The framework of the updated governance provides us with the tools necessary to continue success and achieve more concrete results. By combining stronger and more comprehensive coordination at the national level, and improving international reports and participation, the Council will guarantee that each initiative will achieve its impact, while continuing to establish the UAE’s position as a model to prepare in strengthening it Gender balance at the regional and global levels. “
The Emirates Council for Gender Balance seeks to achieve tangible progress during the coming period thanks to the renewed governance model, and the new structure of the General Secretariat provides more effective coordination with ministries and government agencies, ensures the development of comprehensive legislation and policies, and enhances evidence -based reports through improved data and tools.

At the same time, the council will deepen its partnerships on the global scene, making the UAE a leading model of gender balance, and an active contribution to international dialogue.
