Collaborate "Abu Dhabi Civil Defense" And the National Fire Protection Association

Abu Dhabi, September 19/ WAM/ The Abu Dhabi Civil Defense Authority announced today its cooperation with the National Fire Protection Association “NFPA”, to develop an integrated system to prevent fire in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, which is in line with the international standards adopted by the association, and this comes within the framework of the efforts of the authority to enhance sustainable safety and quality of life in the emirate.

The project aims to consolidate the position of Abu Dhabi as one of the most prominent models globally in the field of safety and fire prevention, and to enhance the existing strategic partnership between the body and the association in a way that serves the emirate’s vision in providing a safe environment and a sustainable society, as well as strengthening the common governmental and societal responsibility in the prevention of fires.

His Excellency Brigadier Salem Abdullah bin Barak Al Dhaheri, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Civil Defense Authority, said that this strategic project falls within the plan of the authority that adopts creativity and innovation as a path to achieve the highest levels of safety in the emirate, and to enhance its global competitiveness in the field of fire prevention, noting that the authority adopted this future approach to be a pioneer in anticipating risks and developing innovative preventive solutions that contribute to consolidating Abu Dhabi’s institutional reputation locally and globally, and its leadership enhances a global model of safety and civil protection.

For his part, Lieutenant -Colonel Dr. Mohamed Nasser Al -Harthi, Director of the Project, explained that the project represents a qualitative shift in the field of fire prevention at the emirate level, as it contributes to developing a sustainable preventive infrastructure, ensuring the readiness of the installations, and raises the level of societal awareness of safety standards according to international best practices.

The commission stressed that the project constitutes a strategic step towards building an integrated and sustainable preventive system that supports the goals of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in protecting lives, property and the environment, and contributes to enhancing the quality of the life of community members.
