United Arab Emirates statement before the United Nations General Assembly in its eighty session
Receiving: His Excellency Lana Zaki Nusseibeh, Minister of State
Mr. President,
When the world stood on the ruins of the war eighty years ago, he found itself in front of a articulated moment, which necessitates moving to a new system, after the prevailing international systems at the time demonstrated their failure to achieve international peace and security. At that time, the world chose peace, opening his arms for a new era of international cooperation and solidarity, which was embodied in the establishment of this organization.
Today, we find ourselves again in front of a separate moment, in a scene of turmoil, conflicts, and humanitarian crises, in which the threats of state sovereignty, and the fears of nuclear proliferation are dominated, as well as extremist theses aimed at threatening the foundations of stability and development.
In the face of this scene, my country chose the approach of wisdom, reduced escalation, and harnessing all its capabilities to build bridges, avoid conflicts, and put the interests of the peoples above all considerations. It sought to strengthen the mechanisms of international cooperation, multilateral action, rules and principles of international law, including the United Nations Charter, and to enhance respect for the principles of good neighborhood, and the sovereignty of states, as well as the advancement of a serious and effective endeavor to create opportunities, and achieve progress in all fields.
My country has also adopted a sincere human diplomacy that aims to the dignity of individuals in the worst circumstances, and also sought to bring the views, which resulted in the exchange of thousands of prisoners between Russia and Ukraine, and hosting peace talks between Azerbaijan and Armenia, beside the endeavors in South Asia and others.
In the face of the challenges, my country is committed to diplomacy, peaceful solutions, and dialogue, and seeks to sustained the dissolution of conflicts instead of being satisfied with its administration. While our eyes were solved, whether in the Gaza Strip, Ukraine, Sudan, or in Yemen, Libya and the coast, it is evident in front of us the need for the return of this path.
Many of the actions have agreed around the action of extremist thought, the discourse of freedoms, and the incitement. Therefore, we have the efforts of payment for the agenda of “tolerance, peace and security”, to uphold the established values in the United Nations Charter, and to break the conflict.
There is no doubt that what we see today in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict embodies the endeavors of war and extremism to undermine the paths of peaceful solutions. No pretext can justify the targeting, surrounding and starvation of thousands of civilians, or forcibly displacing them, or pushing unacceptable ambitions, including the threat to the West Bank.
Likewise, no pilgrimage can be repeated to kidnap civilians, or use them as goals of the conflict, stressing the necessity of their full protection under international humanitarian law.
Also, this situation can be used as a domain to seek to the countries of the region, which we recently witnessed in the freed and condemned Israeli attack against the sisterly State of Qatar, which has been a flagrant violation of its sovereignty, and for the security of the Arab Gulf region, and in violation of the basic principles of the international legal system, and we believe that the impersonation will not The stability of the region is diligent.
On the other hand, my country has always believed in the centrality of the two -state solution, and the necessity of embodying an independent, sovereign Palestinian state, which was called East Jerusalem, living in side with a side with the State of Israel, as a basic requirement to achieve a permanent, fair and inclusive solution to this issue, with the presence of a Palestinian government that is sufficient and able to meet the Palestinian people The weapon was restricted to its own, and the security of security, stability and the rule of law, in a country where there is no place for terrorist and extremist groups.
As my country welcomes the growing confessions of the State of Palestine, and we send a sincere invitation to the rest of the countries to join this path, in an investment in a better future for the region.
Our first and urgent demand is to reach an immediate and lasting ceasefire in Gaza, end the siege, release the hostages and the consequences, and facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid urgently, widely, and without a dignity. The UAE continues its role as the largest granting of assistance to Gaza, for so all of its relations, resources and capabilities, and we will continue to play this role despite the restrictions and obstacles.
In our direction with the predominance of diplomatic solutions and the establishment of justice in the international system, my country still puts the issue of the three -year -old Emirati islands, Greater Tunb, Tanbb Al -Suli and Abu Musa, in the breasts of its national priorities, as we continue in our abandonment of Iran by ending its occupation of these islands, which are not part It is divided from the territory of the UAE, and to respond to our repeated calls to resolve this conflict, through direct negotiations, or resorting to the international justice court.
When we talk about sovereignty, we cannot fail to renew our full support for Moroccan sovereignty over the Moroccan Sahara, with our support for the initiative of self -government within the framework of Moroccan territorial integrity.
Mr. President,
The concerns of our region are not permissible in the bloody scene in Gaza. In Sudan, as well, the people face tremendous human suffering, and have come to the extent of famine. My country stands with the brotherly Sudanese people in its outlooks for the end of this civil war and its deep human repercussions. As we emphasize the importance of the statement issued by the Quartet on Sudan, and the call for a humanitarian truce, we stress the importance of achieving and standing immediate shooting, and the security of the arrival of humanitarian aid without an adept to parts of the country.
The sustainable peace is not achieved by military solutions, and it is necessary to pay towards a transitional process in Sudan that leads to an independent civilian government, which is not subject to the hegemony of any of the futile parties, and there is no place in it for extremism and terrorism.
Mr. President,
My country is keen on supporting the roles of international organizations and mechanisms, multiple parties. In exchange for this commitment, we have the urgent need for the development and reform of the mechanisms of joint action, and its heads of United Nations, including the Security Council. The UAE is looking at the eighties of the eighties of the United Nations as an opportunity to strengthen the organization’s regulations, with the importance of this initiative to include a clear future vision of its work in the upcoming contracts.
This reformist vision of the United Nations is attributed with the ambitious national approach to the UAE, in the shadow of the wise directions of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, based on an active international system, and he is able to serve humanity, and collective work to achieve shaming and sustainable results.
This is reflected on many aspects of our policies. In the field of economics and development, we have worked to double our foreign economic investments in various projects and expand the scope of partnerships, and in particular with the countries of the south, including the countries of the African continent, in which our investments extended to the different sectors, believing in us the importance of conquering and communication to achieve development, prosperity and common stability.
In the field of science, technology, and artificial intelligence, my country has been keen on its creation to support sustainable development worldwide, by building the capabilities of countries in this field, while respecting their values and national priorities, and taking into account the responsible and moral use of these technologies, in line with international law.
In the context of our ongoing efforts to protect the environment, the UAE communicates its growing investments in international climate work, in order to support maximum solutions in this field and enhance clean energy.
My country confirms its full commitment to implementing the results of the “Emirates Agreement”, which is located from the twenty -eighth parties conference, which was held in Dubai in two thousand and twenty -three.
My country has also invested a lot to address the challenges of water scarcity, including through the Mohammed bin Zayed Water Initiative, which supports the development and application of leading technologies to enhance sustainable access to this basic supplier.
My country is preparing to host the United Nations General Water Conference with the Republic of Single, through which we will seek to enhance international cooperation in this field, and stimulate investment in Batkar.
In all of our projects and wealth, we seek to enhance the full, targeted and equal youthful for women, as a basic partner, and the spirit of society.
In conclusion, Mr. President,
At a time when international institutions are weakening, and international law is undermined, we must adhere to our joint responsibility, to ensure the continuity of our international system, restore its credibility, and to ensure reaching a better future for future generations.
Thank you, Mr. President.
