The highest universities: We are studying a proposal to prepare a unified law for veterinary colleges regulations in Egypt

Dr. Jamal Sousse, Chairman of the Veterinary Studies Sector Committee at the Supreme Council of Universities, said that Egypt is going with advanced steps at the level of developing the veterinary profession, explaining that the veterinary studies sector of the Supreme Council of Universities, affiliated with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, works within the framework of the National Higher Education Strategy that was launched in March 2023, which is based on seven major principles: integration, joint effectiveness, communication, sustainability, sustainability, and sustainability International reference, innovation, and entrepreneurship, stressing that these principles are the basic pillars on which all the plans of academic sectors, including the veterinary studies sector, are based, in a manner consistent with the vision of Egypt 2030 ."RTL"> Sousse, during his speech at the first forum for Arab captains and deans and officials of veterinary medicine in the Arab region, whose activities were launched today, Monday, September 29, 2025, at Mansoura University, under the auspices of Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, thanks to Dr. Magdy Hassan, Captain of Egyptian and Arab Veterinary Doctors, praising his great enthusiasm and his keenness to advance the profession of veterinary medicine, saying: & quot;"Ltr"> & quot;."RTL"> Sousse revealed that the sector made a comprehensive review of the regulations of the colleges of veterinary medicine in Egypt, after it was found that there were differences between the curricula within the local universities themselves, as well as their variation with the curricula of Arab countries, and he said: & quot; our work on preparing a unified guideline framework for the sector, and we adopted fixed frameworks that force colleges to adhere to, while giving them a flexible area of 10 & ndash; 20% to include the privacy of each university according to its geographical scope and research interests & quot, explaining that this trend aims to graduate a veterinarian who possesses local, regional and internationally approved skills and knowledge ."RTL"> He added that the sector recently settled on the proposal of a unified regulation for veterinary medicine at the level of Egypt, including the number of basic departments and decisions, while allowing a level of distinction for each college, and continued: & quot; the goal is that the Egyptian graduate be able to work in any Arab or foreign country, thanks to the presence of an international mark start that guarantees the minimum academic and practical requirements & quot; noting that work is underway to unify the curriculum And regulations between Arab countries to achieve professional and regional coordination ."RTL"> Sousse also dealt with the issue of the duration of the study, noting that the sector committee submitted a proposal to amend the current six -year system, to become five years of study and year of compulsory concessions paid at 2500 pounds per month, similar to what is applied in the rest of the medical specialties, and he said that this amendment will give the graduate an academic certificate after five years, along with an accredited training year that enhances his practical experiences ."RTL"> With regard to the law of practicing the profession, Sousse explained that since its issuance in 1954, it has not occurred to him, which necessitated the move towards its review and development in proportion to the needs of the profession, and added that the Veterinary Studies Sector Committee has already finished preparing the proposals for amending the law, and was submitted to the Supreme Council of Universities in preparation for presentation to the Council of Ministers, noting that this development represents a qualitative shift for veterinarians In Egypt ."RTL"> Sousse emphasized that the Supreme Council of Universities is currently studying a proposal to prepare a unified law for the health sector in Egypt that includes all medical specialties, including veterinary medicine, which enhances the integration of the national health system, and continued: & quot; we also seek to unify the standards of practicing the profession at the Arab level, so that the license to practice the profession from Egypt is recognized in other Arab countries, and vice versa, which will give the doctor The veterinarian is the greater value and a broader job opportunities & quot; explaining that this step will take place in coordination with the Union of Arab Veterinarians ."RTL"> Sousse pointed to the introduction of veterinary medicine for the first time within the Egyptian Health Council under the umbrella of the Ministry of Health, stressing that this gives the profession more space for influence, especially with the formation of specialized committees such as the Guidance Evidence Committee, which prepared a unified guideline for clinical veterinary interventions, and the Egyptian Board Committee that sets advanced standards for granting licenses to practice the profession ."RTL"> Establish & nbsp;
