"Sharjah theatrical Research Forum" He reviews 5 doctoral theses on contemporary Arab theater issues


Kalba, September 30 / WAM / was held yesterday within the activities of the twelfth session of the Kalba Festival for Short Players, which is organized by the Department of Culture under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, “The eleventh Sharjah Forum for theatrical Research”, which brought together a group of new graduate studies in the field of theater in Arab universities.
The forum, which was held at the headquarters of the Kalba Association for Short Players, in the presence of Ahmed Bouraima, Director of theater Department at the Department of Culture and the director of the festival, and his sessions, Dr. Nuzha Hakan from Morocco, managed to review five doctoral theses that dealt with central issues in the contemporary Arab theater.
The topics ranged from the call of Ali Allawi from Morocco to dismantle the mechanisms of Arab theatrical thought using philosophical curricula, and analyze the gift of Barakat from Egypt for the cultural controversy in the Arabic shows based on the texts of Shakespeare.
Studies also touched on the research of Rafika Bin Maimon from Morocco in the reasons for the weak turnout of the public on the Moroccan theater, which referred it to the absence of a comprehensive cultural policy, while Hatem Al -Talili from Tunisia presented an innovative vision about the “monetary discourse cumin” within the creative texts themselves, while Iman Yas Khudair from Iraq explored the representations of exile and its artistic characteristics in the Iraqi theater.
In the evening period, the festival fans witnessed three short theatrical performances, the first show was titled “The late dear” directed by Aisha Al -Qassab, and the second “Good Morning” by Jassim Al -Tamimi, and the evening concluded with the presentation of “Drairan” directed by Nada Hatem Nada, where each show was followed by a specialized critical symposium that affected the theater experience of the attendees.
