This morning, at Jebel Ali Racecourse in Dubai, the Emirates Horse Racing Authority organized the second trial race, with the participation of “91” purebred Arabian and hybrid horses, which included 13 races.

The Authority explained in a statement today that 16 crossbred horses participated in 3 rounds, including 14 horses that had never participated in races in two rounds, in addition to a round for two horses that participated in past races, in addition to the participation of 57 purebred Arabian horses in 9 rounds, including 69 horses that had never participated in races, and 6 of the horses participating in past races in one round.

The race included 10 runs of 800 metres, and 3 runs of 1000 metres.

Rashid Al Balushi, a member of the supervisory committee at the Emirates Horse Racing Authority, said that the trial races scheduled for the current season grant a certificate of fitness to the horses, to be approved in the authority’s official records, and to be considered eligible to participate in the races during the season.

He stressed the Authority’s keenness to adopt the best practices in racing, in line with international standards, to ensure their quality and the readiness of the horses to compete in the scheduled competitions, thus enhancing the UAE’s position in organizing equestrian races, noting that the third trial race will be held on October 15 at the Meydan Racecourse.
