National Elections… 1,392 candidates on the first day of parliament on the individual system
Judge Hazem Badawi, head of the National Elections Authority, stated that the committees receiving applications for candidacy for the House of Representatives elections began their work regularly on the first day in all the headquarters specified by the authority in the courts of first instance, from nine in the morning until five in the evening, and the number of those who submitted nomination papers reached (1,392) on the individual system at the level of the Republic, and the first day did not witness any candidacy on the republic’s system. The Central Operations Room at the headquarters of the National Elections Authority, headed by Judge Ahmed Bandari, Director of the Executive Authority, followed the progress of work around the clock through live broadcasting and direct communication with the judges and heads of the committees. The room monitored the presence of high concentrations in all committees that received nomination applications in the various governorates. Coordination was made with the heads of the committees and the security directorates to organize attendance before the committees, and all documents submitted by the committees were uploaded. Those wishing to run on the new electronic program prepared by the National Elections Authority to digitize documents and save them electronically.
