“Sahm 170” champion of the 43-foot Dubai Sailing Boat Race

The boat “Sahm 170”, owned by Abdullah Ibrahim Al Hammadi, and captained by Nokhatha Ahmed Yousef Al Hammadi, won the title of the first round of the Dubai Local Sailing Boat Race, 43-foot category, which was organized by the Dubai International Marine Sports Club, with success and the participation of an elite group of sailing boats in the country. It was hosted by “Dubai Harbour”, which hosted the crowning ceremony for the first-place winners.
The racing competitions were full of competition between 23 of the elite participating sailing boats, who painted the most amazing competition paintings on the coast of Dubai as they started near the World Islands, all the way to “Ain Dubai”, the largest observation wheel in the world, and then concluding in “Dubai Harbour”, as the track was approved according to the highest standards of safety and strength of competition, while the race came quickly thanks to the strength of the winds.
The Director of the Sports Affairs Department at the Dubai International Marine Sports Club, Mohammed Al Marri, crowned the winners. The boat “Al-Aryam 265”, owned by Abdullah Abdul Rahman Al Marzouqi and captained by the boat, Marwan Humaid Abdullah, came in second place, and the boat “Nimran 259”, owned by the owner and boat, Abdullah Mohammed Al Marzouqi, came in third place.
Al Marri congratulated the winners and all participants in the race, and said: “The 43-foot category is one of the strongest competitive categories in which the identity of the winner cannot be predicted before reaching the finish line, and this is what we followed in this race, which came strong thanks to the knowledge and experience of the participating pilots. We were keen to postpone the race last week in order to ensure the safety of all participants, and the choice of the new date came on an ideal day in terms of weather conditions, in addition to The sea route that passed in front of Dubai’s wonderful cultural facilities, leading to Dubai Harbour, which is distinguished at all levels.
He continued: “This is the second race in the calendar of the new sports season, and the level of performance among the participants will continue to rise, and we look forward to watching more successful and strong races that embody the deep-rooted roots of sailing boats in the country.”
For his part, Ahmed Youssef Al Hammadi, the captain of the “Sahm 170” boat, expressed his happiness at winning first place, and said: “We entered this race with full confidence that we are striving to win, and we thank those in charge of the race for choosing the route well and taking into account all aspects that ensure the participants provide the best and strongest levels.”
The Dubai International Maritime Club sports season competitions will continue with a successive series of sailing boat races over the coming weeks, with the details of each race and registration mechanisms to be announced in detail.
