Zamalek signs a contract with Croatian Zelko Babic

 The Board of Directors of Zamalek Club, headed by Captain Hussein Labib, announced its official contract with Croatian coach Zeljko Babic, to take over the technical leadership of the club’s handball team, despite the severe financial crisis that the club is going through.

Zeljko Babic is considered one of the most prestigious names in the world of European handball coaching, as he has a distinguished CV and long experience in managing teams. He is a professional, he is 53 years old, and he rose in his career from small clubs to coach of the Croatia men’s national team.

 

 Babic had previously coached the Croatia national team, between the years 2015-2017, and led his country to achieve the bronze medal in the 2016 European Championship, and he also played in the 2017 World Championship with Croatia and achieved results. Good despite the injuries the team suffered.

 

He coached the Eurofarm Pelister club in the Macedonian League, which is one of the most prominent Eastern European clubs, where he contributed to developing the team’s defensive system and making it one of the strongest defense lines in the Balkan region, and led the team to the final of the Macedonian League and participated in the EHF European League. League.

 

The Croatian coach’s last training stop was leading the Croatian team Cesveti in 2025, with whom he qualified for the group stage of the European League.
