Dubai Roads showcases 11 projects and initiatives with artificial intelligence at GITEX 2025

Dubai, 12 October / WAM / During the “GITEX 2025” exhibition, which kicks off tomorrow at the Dubai World Trade Centre, the Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai will showcase 11 pioneering projects and initiatives that embody its leadership in adopting the latest technologies in artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, and predictive solutions.

His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Roads and Transport Authority, stressed the authority’s keenness to participate in “GITEX” as it is the largest global event in the field of modern technologies, pointing out that participation embodies the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, “may God protect him,” in making Dubai the smartest and happiest city in the world.

His Excellency said that the Authority is working to adopt the latest digital technologies and artificial intelligence applications to enhance the digital transformation in its services, which contributes to raising the efficiency of the operational system, improving the customer journey, and improving the quality of life in Dubai.

He explained that the Authority’s participation this year focuses on reviewing smart projects that represent a qualitative leap in the process of digital transformation, and includes applications of artificial intelligence and predictive solutions based on big data analysis, and the use of the Internet of Things in asset and infrastructure management, in addition to communicating with partners and learning about the latest global innovations in the transportation sector.

The “Smart Vehicle Network” system is one of the most prominent innovations, as it enables predictive control of traffic based on artificial intelligence and real-time data analysis, and contributed to reducing delay time by 25% and reducing operational costs by between 20% and 30%. As for the 360 automated inspection system, it relies on computer vision and the Internet of Things to reduce vehicle inspection time from 17 minutes to only 7 minutes, which contributes to In enhancing service efficiency and road safety.

The Authority also highlights the “Tram Without Tracks” project, which operates without fixed tracks, relying on visual navigation techniques, GPS, and LiDAR technology, which enhances the flexibility of operation and the flow of traffic at a lower operational cost.

In the field of smart infrastructure, the Authority is displaying the “ARIIS Safe Railways” system, which uses laser scanning and computer vision to inspect and maintain railways with microscopic precision, contributing to reducing inspection time by 70% and raising safety standards in the operation of the Dubai Metro. The Authority is also highlighting the Smart Transport Platform for Safe Cities, which is a system supported by artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things to monitor and manage commercial transport in various ways. types, including delivery bicycles and school buses, and analyze driver data and lane adherence to enhance public safety.

The authority continues its participation by reviewing the “Gobi S4” air taxi project, which began trial operation in Dubai in preparation for the launch of the commercial service, in addition to smart digital channels such as the “S’hail” application and the “RTA Dubai” application, and the artificial intelligence factory, which represents an institutional research and development platform for machine learning applications and data analysis in the smart transportation sector.
