The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Sports in Giza follows up on the start of electronic voting from the 6th of October Club and Sheikh Zayed Club

In the framework of the directives of Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, and Engineer Adel Al-Najjar, Governor of Giza, to follow up on the readiness of sports clubs to conduct electronic elections.

 

 Dr. Mahmoud Al-Sabrout, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports in Giza, made an inspection tour of the 6th of October Sports Club and the Sheikh Zayed Club; To determine their preparations for the launch of the first experiment with the elections with the electronic voting system in sports clubs in Giza Governorate.

The tour came in the presence of a committee from the Administrative Prosecution Supervising the Elections, and a committee from the Directorate that included Ihab Fawi, Deputy Director for Sports Affairs, Dr. Ibrahim Abdel Razek, Director of the Sports Bodies Administration, and Fatima Yousry, Director of the October Youth and Sheikh Zayed Administration, along with the leaders of the two clubs, where He was received at the 6th of October Club by Dr. Abdel Latif Sobhi, Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Major General Walid Taher, Executive Director, and at the Sheikh Zayed Club  Muhammad Mukhtar, Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Adel Al-Shimi, Executive Director.

During the tour, they inspected the headquarters of the electoral committees, followed up on the technical and organizational procedures, listened to a detailed explanation about the mechanism of operation of the electronic voting system, and ensured the availability of technical devices and equipment that allow ease and speed of voting, in order to achieve the highest standards of accuracy and transparency, which will take place at the 6th of October Club on Friday, October 17th, and includes the Association The general meeting and the special meeting, on October 18, the special meeting of the Sheikh Zayed Club.

It is noteworthy that Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, had launched the electronic voting project in sports clubs in the presence of the Ministers of Justice and International Cooperation and the Head of the Administrative Prosecution Authority within the framework of the Ministry’s plan towards digital transformation and developing the services provided to members, indicating that the project represents a qualitative shift in the mechanisms of election management and governance within the system. Sports.

The minister previously confirmed that the project comes within the efforts of the Egyptian state to promote digital transformation, transparency, and improve the quality of services, in line with Egypt’s 2030 vision towards building modern institutions that rely on technology to provide services to citizens. He explained that the ministry is working in cooperation with various government agencies and bodies to achieve sustainable development and improve institutional performance, stressing that the implementation of the electronic voting system reflects the state’s confidence in the ability of its institutions to modernize. And development also represents an important step towards a more efficient and transparent work system within the sports and youth sector.
