The Egyptian national team achieved a difficult victory over its counterpart, Guinea-Bissau, with an unanswered goal, in the match that brought them together in the last round of the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.
The only goal of the match came in the first half, after Ahmed Nabil sent “Koka” A perfect cross into the penalty area, followed by Mohamed Hamdy with a direct shot into the net, giving the Pharaohs an early lead.
The Egyptian team controlled the course of play during the first half, and appeared organized offensively and defensively, while the Guinean team was content with limited attempts that did not pose a major threat.
As for the second half, the Egyptian performance declined clearly, allowing Guinea-Bissau to take control. On the ball and threatening Mohamed Sobhi’s goal on more than one occasion, but the Egyptian defense succeeded in maintaining the lead until the final whistle.
