Abu Dhabi, October 13 / WAM / A number of Jiu-Jitsu coaches confirmed that the Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship, which concluded its second edition yesterday with the crowning of the winners, has established its position as a leading platform in supporting emerging players, discovering promising talents and creating champions, amid an unprecedented attendance throughout the season and until the final round.

They pointed out that the tournament was not limited to supporting senior players only, but also paid great attention to emerging and young talents, giving it the status it deserved as the largest tournament in the world in terms of organization, technical level, and number of participating players.

Ribamar Santiago, the coach of the Baniyas team that won the championship title, expressed his pride in the team’s achievement and culmination after a long and arduous season during which it played many rounds, amid strong competition from young and emerging players.

He added that the tournament has established its position as one of the most prominent tournaments supporting young players at various age levels, stressing the keenness to attract young players and integrate them more broadly into this tournament, which represents a distinguished station for preparation and qualification in preparation for their participation in foreign tournaments with the national teams.

For his part, Coach Sergio Amizolo, a coach at the Emirates Jiu-Jitsu Federation, said that the second edition of the Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship confirmed its leadership in supporting the category of young and emerging players, indicating the presence of great community support from families and concerned authorities who were keen to encourage children to participate and be present throughout the season.

He added that what we witnessed during the season, and in the final round in particular, reflects the extent of the efforts made by those in charge of the event to support young players and bring them to the best readiness, so that they will be a strong nucleus for the national teams in the future. In the same context, coach Khair Khalifa, who trained a number of male and female players from different schools in the country during the tournament competitions, appreciated the great support from the game federation, schools, and parents, which confirms the progress according to well-studied methodological plans. For his part, Eric Ramsey, coach of the Nogueira Dubai Jiu-Jitsu team, said that reaching the final stage with this number of young players confirms that the tournament continues its success from one version to another, as it witnessed, through a full season and several rounds, high technical levels by the young players.
