The Paralympic volleyball team defeats Japan and faces Australia at dawn in the World Cup in America

Our national Paralympic volleyball team defeated its counterpart, the Japanese national team, in three clean games, in the framework of the first round competitions in the World Cup, which is hosted by the American city of Indianapolis during the period from 9 to 18 October of this month.

Our team’s victory over Japan came with a score of 10/25, 11/25, 22/25.

Our team will play a second match in the period. This evening, against its Australian counterpart in the third round of its group in the first round, at exactly three o’clock in the morning on Tuesday, Cairo time.

Our team had begun its participation in the tournament by defeating India by three clean games.

For his part, Dr. Sameh Salem, Vice President of the Egyptian Paralympic Volleyball Federation and head of the delegation, confirmed that he held a meeting with the players and the technical staff after the first match to urge them to continue the high spirit, And achieving victory in the rest of the tournament matches until winning the title, which is what actually happened in the Japan match.

Dr. Sameh Salem said: “All the mission’s affairs are going well in America, and he is removing all obstacles in order for the technical staff and players to focus on the matches and winning only.” Dr. Sameh Salem stressed that the Paralympic Volleyball Federation has an ambitious plan that began to be implemented before the African Championship in Kenya, which our team won last July and will continue until the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, winning a fourth Paralympic medal, and the World Cup and the competition for its title is one of the most important stages in this plan.

Our team plays in the first group of the World Cup, which includes other teams. India, Japan, Australia, Croatia, Brazil, and the Netherlands.

The second group includes the teams of America, Kazakhstan, France, Italy, Thailand, Canada, and Poland.

The delegation of our national team in America is headed by Dr. Sameh Salem, Vice President of the Egyptian Paralympic Volleyball Federation.

The delegation includes 12 players, namely: Hisham Salah, Qaed. The team, Ashraf Zaghloul, Abdelnabi Hassan, Mohamed El-Hanawy, Hossam Masoud, El-Sayed Musa, Ahmed Khamis, Ahmed Fadl, Zakaria El-Sayed, Motawa Abu Al-Khair, Hamada Hassan, and Ahmed Zakry.

The technical staff is led by Dr. Wagih Hamdy as technical director, assisted by Mohamed Bashir, general coach, Mohamed Saad, coach, and Amin Abdel Moneim, as manager. Administratively.

The Paralympic volleyball team is considered the best team in Egypt’s Olympic and Paralympic history, as it is the only team that was able to win three Paralympic medals in 2004, 2016, and 2024. It was also able to win three World Cup medals in 2006, 2010, and 2023, in addition to two Confederations World Cup medals in 2012, 2016, and 8 African Nations Championships Consecutive.
