"GITEX Global" and"Gulfood" To the Dubai Exhibition Center in Expo 2026

DUBAI, 14th October, 2018 (WAM) – The Dubai World Trade Centre, the region’s leading authority in organizing and enabling global events and responsible for organizing the GITEX and Gulfood exhibitions, announced the move of two of the most prominent global events influencing the fields of trade and economics to the Dubai Exhibition Center in Expo City Dubai in 2026. They are GITEX Global, the largest technology and artificial intelligence exhibition in the world. And Gulfood, the largest global food and beverage supply event.
Gulfood will continue to be held in two parallel locations: the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Center in the heart of Dubai’s central business district, and the Dubai Exhibition Center in Expo City Dubai.
The move was formalized with a partnership agreement signed between Trixie Loh Mirmand, Executive Vice President of Events and Exhibitions Management at Dubai World Trade Centre, global organizer of GITEX and Gulfood; And Maher Julfar, Executive Vice President of Hall Services Department at the Dubai World Trade Centre, as part of the activities of the second day of GITEX Global 2025.
This step confirms the growing position of the Dubai Exhibition Center as a huge urban center in the heart of the city, designed specifically to host major events that shape the future of global industries, ideas and economies.
Trixie Loh Mirmand said that the year 2026 represents an important turning point in the journey of the Dubai World Trade Center, with the move of two of the largest global events to their new headquarters in the Dubai Exhibition Centre, where GITEX Global and Gulfood are two main pillars in the technology and food sectors, and contribute to consolidating the position of Dubai and the UAE as a global center for trade and innovation.
The new center provides broader spaces for growth, not only in terms of space, but through integration with Dubai’s evolving scene in the areas of tourism, culture and lifestyle.
Maher Julfar said: The move of GITEX Global to the Dubai Exhibition Center, along with the simultaneous expansion of the Gulfood event across the two centers, represents a new stage in the journey of the events economy in Dubai, and with the huge expansion project for the center, we are launching an integrated future platform, designed to support the growth of global trade and accelerate innovation.
He added that the center’s advanced infrastructure and global communications network will enable events to keep pace with the ambitions of Dubai’s D33 Economic Agenda, while continuing to make a positive impact in the technology, food, investment and tourism sectors.
This move strengthens the position of the Dubai Exhibition Center as a major new destination for the major global events industry, while the center is currently undergoing a comprehensive expansion worth US$ 2.7 billion to become the largest indoor events and exhibition center in the region.
The center is strategically located close to Al Maktoum International Airport, which will become the largest airport in the world, and is integrated with the Dubai Urban Plan 2040.
The center provides advanced infrastructure and an integrated communications network to keep pace with the next stage of the global impact of GITEX Global.
