"Abu Dhabi Quality" Launching a new feature to classify food products at GITEX 2025

Dubai, October 16 / WAM / The Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council launched a new feature for the “Nutritional Label” initiative, which was developed to classify food products in cooperation with the “Tamm” platform of the Department of Government Empowerment.

This system, which was announced during the “Jectus Global 2025” exhibition, allows users to preview food items by taking a picture of the nutritional information labeled on food products and obtain a nutritional classification from A (the highest nutritional value) to E (the lowest).

The nutritional label contributes to facilitating and accelerating the knowledge-based decision-making process, in a step that represents a qualitative leap in integrating technology into public health, and an affirmation of the Abu Dhabi government’s vision to make digital solutions a basic pillar for improving the quality of life by enabling consumers to make healthy and informed food choices, using reliable technology and data.

His Excellency Eng. Fahd Gharib Al Shamsi, Acting Secretary-General, said that the Council’s participation in GITEX 2025 and the presentation of the new feature of the “nutritional label” reflects the commitment to using technology to serve society, and to establish a culture of nutritional awareness based on knowledge and accurate data.

He added that the development of the “nutritional label” in cooperation with the partners in the “Tamm” platform and the Abu Dhabi Public Health Center embodies a practical model of integration between innovation and quality, in line with the Abu Dhabi government’s vision of building a healthier and more sustainable society.

For his part, His Excellency Dr. Muhammad Al-Askar, Director General of TAMM – Department of Government Empowerment, said that this cooperation confirms the department’s commitment to unifying government efforts and services within the framework of a unified and integrated platform supported by artificial intelligence tools and human-centered, explaining that the partnership with the Council is consistent with their vision to redefine the needs of community members.

The content of the initiative depends on three main pillars: It is health by promoting nutritional awareness and disease prevention, quality by providing accurate and transparent standards for classifying products, as well as technology by empowering consumers through innovative digital solutions that facilitate access to information.
