Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, went after the end of today’s meetings and attended the activities of the closing session of the eighth Cairo Water Week, to check on the completion of the latest work to develop the area surrounding the Grand Egyptian Museum and the roads leading to it and the completion of development work therein, 15 days before the major celebration that the Egyptian state will hold; On the occasion of the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum, in the presence of a number of leaders, heads of state and prominent figures in the world.

The Prime Minister was accompanied by  Sherif Fathi, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, Engineer Adel El-Naggar, Governor of Giza, Major General Maged Abdel Hamid, Deputy Minister of Transport for Land Transport, Dr. Ahmed Ghoneim, CEO of the Grand Egyptian Museum Authority, Major General Atef Moftah, General Engineering Supervisor of the Museum Project and the Surrounding Area, and Dr. Tarek Sobhi, Consultant. The Prime Minister indicated that The area surrounding the Grand Egyptian Museum and the roads leading to it are witnessing cultural coordination works that include raising the efficiency of roads, landscaping, lighting, etc., according to a unified visual identity, aiming to complete the ideal image of this cultural edifice, the opening of which is expected to witness a high-level presence of international public figures. Dr. Mostafa Madbouly began his tour from the entrance to Sphinx International Airport at the top of the airport bridge, where he inspected the ongoing development work in front of the airport, where it was noted that the planting of palm trees and trees, which he had directed to intensify their planting in this area in front of the airport, had also been completed. Implementation of irrigation networks, digging of wells and soil coverings had also been completed, in addition to the completion of individual planting. After that, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly – while on his way to inspect the new statue located at the entrance to the Cairo-Alexandria Desert Road – continued the development work witnessed by the Alexandria Desert Road in the area between the Sphinx Airport and the entrance to the road, where it was noted that the completion of painting the fences, cosmetic works, installing the interlock and installing the crystal fence was noted. Electricity work was also completed.

The Prime Minister and his entourage arrived to see the work that had been completed in the area of the new statue located near the toll gate. In this regard, it was noted that the statue was implemented and designed under the supervision of Dr. Tariq Sobhi, project consultant, as part of efforts to develop the area surrounding the museum, where  It is considered a "piece of art" It expresses the surrounding environment, as it is inspired by ancient Egyptian civilization, and was brilliantly designed by taking into account the fusion between ancient Egyptian art and contemporary modern art, in addition to noting the completion of concrete pouring work, the completion of installing the statue on the base, the welding work and marble installation are being completed, palm planting work has also been completed, and the necessary lighting work for the statue has been installed, with the completion of leveling and paving the area. located in the vicinity of the statue.

Then Dr. Mostafa Madbouly continued his walk back in the opposite direction of the Cairo-Alexandria Road to follow the rest of the road development work, then he headed to inspect the “Hazem Hassan Tunnel” area. At Al-Remaya Square, where it was noted that waste removal in the “Hazem Hassan Tunnel Intersection” area had been completed. The site was leveled, and the area in front of the Giza Security Directorate was inspected up to Hazem Hassan Tunnel, where the interlock installation and concrete pouring work were completed, as well as the installation of lighting units.

Then the Prime Minister moved to inspect the “Shooting Field” area, near the golden cube model, where the painting and interlock installation work was completed, as well as the completion of the work. Palm plantings and irrigation network works, as well as the completion of the installation of lighting units.

Then Dr. Mustafa Madbouly went to inspect Fayoum Road from the shooting range to the tourist road, where he was assured of the completion of the painting, interlocking and concrete pouring works, as well as the completion of palm and tree planting and irrigation network works.
