As part of his official visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Ministry of Youth and Sports organized a coordination meeting between Philippe Boullier, Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations for Youth Affairs, and Ambassador Saif Qandil, Director of the Cairo International Center for Conflict Resolution and Peacekeeping in Africa (CCCPA), in order to discuss ways to enhance cooperation in the areas of peacebuilding and empowering youth in preservation and sustainability operations. Peace.
The meeting was attended by Yves Sassenrath, Acting United Nations Resident Coordinator in Egypt, Mustafa Magdy, Assistant Minister of Youth and Sports for Strategic Affairs and Information, Mustafa Ezz Al-Arab, Assistant Minister of Youth and Sports and Liaison Coordinator with UN and International Organizations, where the attendees discussed the prospects for developing strategic partnerships between the Ministry and the Cairo Center and the United Nations. The United Nations, through joint programs targeting young people as active elements in preventing conflicts and promoting societal stability.
AndDuring the meeting, Ambassador Saif Qandil reviewed the pioneering efforts undertaken by the Cairo International Center for Conflict Resolution, Preservation and Peacebuilding in Africa as a regional center affiliated with the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and an accredited partner of the United Nations and the Union. He explained that the center works to train African cadres in the fields of mediation, conflict prevention, combating extremism, and empowering women and youth in peace-building paths, pointing to the pivotal role that Egypt plays through the center in supporting African countries to achieve stability and sustainable development, And consolidating a culture of peace based on dialogue and understanding.
The two sides stressed the importance of supporting national and regional capabilities in various strategic fields, and enhancing youth participation in international and African initiatives, in line with the youth agenda “Security Council Resolution 2250.” And Egypt Vision 2030.
