The eighth session of the El Gouna Film Festival includes the screening of about 70 films from various countries of the world, combining feature-length, documentary, and short films, and Egyptian cinema stands out in this year’s session by displaying 5 films in competitions. The various festivals, in addition to the opening film “Happy Birthday”, as well as hosting the special screening of the film “The Distinguished Gentlemen” In the presence of its makers and heroes before its public launch in theaters next Wednesday, October 22.

 

 

The El Gouna Film Festival announced the formation of jury committees for its new session, where star Laila Elwi chairs the jury of the feature film competition, with the participation of Giona. Nazzaro, Rachid Masharawi, Kani Koshrouti, and Nahuel Pérez Pescayart, while the French director Nicolas Philibert heads the feature-length documentary film committee, and the names of the director include Sona Karabogosian, Mohamed Saeed Ouma, and Hala. As for the short films committee, it is headed by Mehdi Fleifel, and includes Andrea Gatopoulos, Juliette Kano, Souad Bishnak, and Mustafa Al-Kashef, while the Green Star Committee includes Jana Wahba, Mai Al-Ghaiti, and Niklas Engstrom, as for the International Federation of Critics (FIPRICE) committee, it includes Omnia Adel, Pamela Cohen, and Ramachandran Bisharat, while the Netpac Prize committee is chaired by Anne Demy Giraud, with Jean-Marc Therwan as a member, and director Hala Khalil.
