“Champions Day” for horses.. “Ombodsman” enters the challenge of the strong in the British “Champion Stakes”

The three-year-old colt in the “Champion Stakes” is looking forward to confirming his position as the best race horses of the year 2025, in a confrontation that is the number of his three this season against the Irish colt “Delacura”, after he was crowned “Ombudsman” last June at the same “Ascot” track won the “Prince of Wales Stakes” race, and last July in his first encounter he suffered a narrow loss to “Delacura” in the “Coral Eclipse” race for Group 1 horses at the “Sandon” track, and he followed that up in August with his success in redeeming himself from “Delacura”, with a victory. Due by three and a half lengths in the Juddmont International Seatex race, which took place on the Yaruk track.
The Emirati hopes are counting on “Al Maqam”, one of the best middle-distance horses in Europe, and last May he beat “Ombudsman” by a length and three-quarters of a length, to win the title of the “Brigadier Girard Stakes” race for third category “Group 3” horses, which took place on the “Sandwan” track.
“Trollerman” seeks his second British Champion Cup victory
Under the supervision of trainers John and Thedi Gosden, the horse “Trollerman” is looking for his second victory in the British Champion Cup endurance race, which extends over 3,200 meters on grass.
This is Trollmann’s fourth consecutive participation in the British Champion Cup, after he finished third in the 2022 edition, and he followed that up in 2023 by pushing strongly from behind, and snatching a brilliant victory by a “neck” at the expense of the most prominent endurance horse on the international scene, the horse Kypreos. Crowned with the title.
“Trollerman” is basing his chances of returning to the title on his honorable results in his current season in Britain, as a result of which he won three successive victories, the last of which came last August when he was crowned the “Lonsdale Cup” title for the second category “Group 2” horses on the second day of the “Ebor” Festival, which took place at the “York” Racecourse.
