President Sisi directs comprehensive development of the civil aviation sector

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met today with Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, Dr. Sameh El-Hafny, Minister of Civil Aviation, Major General Amir Sayed Ahmed, Advisor to the President of the Republic for Urban Planning, and Lieutenant General Ahmed El-Shazly, Advisor to the President of the Republic for Financial Affairs.
The official spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic stated that the President reviewed the executive position of the “building” project. 4" At Cairo International Airport, as one of the strategic projects aimed at improving the quality of services and enhancing the airport’s infrastructure.
The Minister of Civil Aviation indicated that the capacity of the new building will not be less than 30 million passengers annually, which raises the total capacity of the airport to more than 60 million passengers, explaining that the project will rely on the latest smart technologies to become among the largest buildings in the world. Passengers have developed in the world and provide an exceptional and integrated travel experience.
Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, the official spokesman, added that the President stressed the importance of the project being based on an advanced operating system that includes the latest systems in the fields of air navigation, ground operations and building management, while integrating technical innovations based on Research and development to build a smart and sustainable environment that keeps pace with international standards.
During the meeting, the President also followed up on developments in the state’s efforts to enhance the efficiency of the civil aviation sector, including plans to develop airports and increase their capacity to reach 72.2 million passengers annually by the end of 2025, in parallel with improving The quality of services provided to travelers is in support of the state’s goals of raising the number of tourists to 30 million annually.
The President directed the strengthening of strategic partnerships to attract foreign direct investments in the civil aviation sector, through the establishment of integrated investment zones around Egyptian airports, with strict adherence to environmental standards in various activities and projects. In line with the state’s vision of shifting towards a green economy and a more sustainable aviation system.
He also stressed the importance of monitoring any complaints related to the quality of services at airports and dealing with them seriously and quickly, in a way that contributes to improving the travel experience and enhancing travellers’ confidence.
