The Deputy Minister of Health directs the opening of an investigation into an incident at Al-Munira Hospital during a surprise tour

Dr. Mohamed Al-Tayeb, Deputy Minister of Health and Population, conducted a surprise tour of Cairo Governorate, which included the central laboratories and Al-Munira General Hospital, to follow up on the progress of work and ensure the quality of services provided to citizens, and to determine the needs of patients and workers, in a way that ensures facilitation of their access to medical care in a safe and comfortable environment. This tour comes in implementation of the directives of Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health. And the population, by periodically following up on health facilities to ensure the provision of distinguished services.
Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, explained that the Deputy Minister began his tour by inspecting the central laboratories, where he followed the progress of work within the travel committees and laboratories, and was informed of the numbers of visitors and the mechanisms for organizing work, stressing the prevention of any manifestations of exploitation of citizens outside the laboratories, to ensure that they obtain the service easily. And safety, while providing comfort.
The spokesman added that the Deputy Minister reviewed the electronic reservation system through the central laboratories website, and conducted a practical experiment to ensure the ease of procedures and speed of performance, in order to ensure the comfort of citizens and avoid crowding, in addition to reviewing the price list for analyzes to ensure its clarity and transparency for everyone. He also directed the development of a workers’ rest room to ensure a healthy work environment, and to inspect the waste room. Medical care to ensure compliance with infection control standards, and to review the level of cleanliness in the warehouses while taking the necessary immediate measures to avoid negatives, in addition to improving the mechanisms for transferring patients from health insurance hospitals to laboratories.
Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar continued that the Deputy Minister continued his tour by inspecting Al-Munira General Hospital, where the visit included all departments and the admission office to follow up on the mechanisms of receiving and booking patients. He quickly responded to their requests. He also inspected outpatient clinics and listened to patients’ opinions about the quality of service. He directed the opening of an urgent investigation into an incident that was observed during traffic, with one of the workers being transferred for investigation, with the aim of developing the work environment, improving the quality of services, and facilitating health care for citizens.
