Araujo saves Barcelona from the Girona trap and gives them the lead temporarily

Uruguayan substitute defender Ronaldo Araujo led his team, Barcelona, the defending champion, to regain the winning tone by defeating its guest and Catalan neighbor Girona 2-1 in the ninth stage of the Spanish Football League on Saturday.
The Catalan giant compensated for its fall in the last stage with a harsh result against Sevilla 1-4 and also lost to Paris Saint-Germain 1-2 in the Champions League, temporarily occupying the lead with 22 points, one point ahead of its arch-rival Real Madrid, which will meet Getafe on Sunday, while Girona’s score froze at six points in nineteenth place.
After seizing the lead through Pedri (13), Girona responded quickly through Belgian Axel Witsel, equalizing the score (20). The Spanish champion waited until the third minute of time instead of stoppage time to snatch the three points through Araujo.
The Uruguayan’s goal came two minutes after his German coach, Hansi Flick, was expelled for protesting the number of minutes counted instead of lost because he considered them insufficient.
