The Jordanian Minister of Culture and the Secretary-General of Arab Writers inaugurate the Darat al-Shuaara conference in Jordan

The Jordanian Minister of Culture, Mustafa Al-Rawashdeh, and the great poet and thinker, Dr. Alaa Abdel Hadi, Secretary-General of the General Union of Arab Authors and Writers and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Syndicate of the Egyptian Writers Union, opened the activities of the second annual conference of the Jordanian Poets House “Course of the Late Poet Abdel Moneim Al-Rifai” With broad Arab participation from Arab writers, poets and creators.

 

For his part, the great poet and thinker Dr. Alaa Abdul Hadi expressed in his speech his happiness at attending this conference, in the company of a significant number of poets and critics in Jordan, the homeland of beauty and the institute of poetry.

He said that the conference comes in an Arab context in which confusion prevails and in which the voice of the occupier is loudest. And it extends under its umbrella, affirming, on behalf of the General Union of Arab Writers, the stability of the Arab intellectual’s vision of the Palestinian issue as the central issue that comes at the top of all Arab issues.

He noted that this conference is one of many building blocks that contribute to establishing the awareness of the Arab citizen and the culture of dialogue and beauty and building belonging in a time of confusion, where preserving the constants of the Arab cultural conscience becomes a premise for any affiliation. And real cultural awareness, and at the forefront of these constants is the Palestinian issue.

 

He pointed out that poetry is the energy of renewal inherent in any language, which only the poet discovers or summons in its striking presence, pointing out that there are many people who write poetry, but poets are as few as they have been throughout the past. History.

 

For his part, the Jordanian Minister of Culture, Mustafa Al-Rawashdeh, appreciated the titles of the sessions that deal with vocabulary related to the transformations of the era and its language, the function of poetry and its role in the contemporary world, its history, and the future of humanity, indicating that these vocabulary constitute important joints for the Arab cultural and poetic scene, starting with the framing of the poetic topic and its issues, passing through the bodies. Cultural and poetic heritage, crises of form and content, and Arab poetry in the digital space, leading to the future of Arab poetry.
