"Minister" Inspects the development work of the international coastal road

Within the framework of the continuous follow-up of service and development projects implemented by the Ministry of Transport in a number of governorates of Lower Egypt and the Delta, and in light of following up on the implementation of the comprehensive plan implemented by the Ministry of Transport to raise the efficiency and development of the international coastal road from Port Said to Salloum, with a length of 800  km, since it is the main road linking the Egyptian seaports on the Mediterranean (Damietta – Port Said – Alexandria Abu Qir – Jarjoub) and passes through 7 governorates: Damietta, Port Said, Dakahlia, Kafr El-Sheikh, Beheira, Alexandria, Matrouh, the industrial areas in Port Said, New Damietta, Gamasa, and Motobas in Kafr El-Sheikh, and new cities such as New Damietta, New Mansoura and New Rashid.

 The team was conducted by Engineer Kamel Al-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport, accompanied by Major General Maged Abdel Hamid, Deputy Minister of Transport for Land Transport, Major General Tariq Abdel Gawad, Chairman of the General Authority for Roads and Bridges, and Engineer Ali Ayyad, CEO To the Holding Company for Roads, Bridges and Marine Works Projects, Dr. Abdel Rahman Al-Baz, Assistant Minister of Transport for Project Follow-up and Technical Support, and Engineer Mohamed Abu Sariye, Executive Managing Director of the Nile General Company for Construction and Roads, conducted an inspection tour to follow up on the International Coastal Road Development Project, at a distance of 43 km from the Furniture City to the borders. Dakahlia, km 107, with a length of 64 km, where a concrete service road with a width of 12 meters is being implemented, so that in this distance the road becomes  6 lanes in each direction, including 3 lanes  Concrete pavement is designated for trucks, to cope with the increase in the number of trucks on the roads and heavy loads, in addition to raising the efficiency of the existing road after the truck road, to be  Transporting traffic on the truck road immediately after the completion of the concrete paving, progress was also followed in the work of constructing and implementing 18 overhead bridges in both directions on the service road. During the tour, what was implemented within the framework of the comprehensive plan to develop the road was reviewed, starting from Port Said to Salloum, where the efficiency of the road was raised starting from the city of Gamasa (80 km) to the city of Burullus (130 km), and the efficiency of the distance from the city of Alexandria to the city of Matrouh was raised, and a concrete truck road is being constructed starting from the city of Damietta. (50 km to the black sand dredger) (132 km) In addition, the efficiency of the distance from the city of Matrouh to the city of Salloum is being increased by a length of 240 km, and the work of expanding the Matrouh/Salloum road with a length of 240 km is being implemented. The minister also followed up on the construction project A free road east of Al-Riyah Al-Tawfiqi in the distance from Banha to Mansoura, with a length of 73 km and a width of 4 main lanes, and a service road, where the implementation of the distance from the intersection of the road with the regional ring road in Benha and the Cairo-Alexandria Agricultural Road to the village of Mit Al-Ezz, with a length of 18 km, was completed. The Minister inspected the sites of  Working in the distance from Mit al-Ezz to Daqados, with a length of 15 km, following the rates of implementation of roads and industrial works, as this distance includes a number of 8 bridges (Mait al-Ezz – Tanker – Al-Maasara – Mit Ghamr – Mit Naji – Kafr Al-Naim – Al-Safouriya – Daqados), where the implementation of a tanker bridge was completed, The implementation rate of the Mit Al-Ezz Bridge reached 85%, and work is progressing on other bridges and road works. The Minister directed  By intensifying work to speed up completion  Taking into account the implementation of all works in accordance with the required specifications and conditions and in accordance with international quality standards, and the completion of the service road in parallel with the completion of the main road, and attention to the directional signs  And make a plan To optimize the use of areas under bridges and maintain the right of way  The executive position was also reviewed for the distances from Daqados to Aga, with a length of 22 km, and from Aga to Mansoura, with a length of 18 km.

And 4 lanes for vehicles) and the second is   “Sharqash” An expansion of the main road in the station area is being implemented, to establish the station consisting of 6 lanes/direction (2 lanes for trucks and 4 lanes for vehicles), and the Minister directed attention to the work of ensuring the safety of traffic on the road and re-planning the road to coincide with the completion From establishing the security control and collection portals.
