Egypt welcomes the ceasefire agreement between Pakistan and Afghanistan

Today, Monday, the Arab Republic of Egypt issued a statement in which it welcomed the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and Afghanistan reaching a ceasefire agreement on October 19, 2020, and establishing a mechanism aimed at establishing permanent peace and stability between the two countries.

 

The statement indicated that Egypt looks forward to this agreement contributing In order to put an end to border tensions between the two countries, stop bloodshed, and sustain security and stability in the region, it stresses the necessity of relying on diplomatic solutions and constructive dialogue to resolve differences. Egypt stresses its support for all initiatives and efforts aimed at settling regional disputes through peaceful means.
