Dr. Ibrahim Saber, Governor of Cairo, expressed his great pleasure in participating in the historic celebration of the centenary of the publication of the first issue of Rosa Al-Youssef magazine, stressing that the ancient institution represents a milestone in the march of the Egyptian and Arab press, and a free national voice that has carried the responsibility of speech and awareness over a century.
Saber said, during his speech at the Rosa Al-Youssef centenary celebration, that this The institution was not just a journalistic platform, but rather an integrated intellectual and national school, on whose pages generations of writers, thinkers, and creators were raised, and through which Egyptians’ awareness of the issues of the homeland, Arabism, and identity was formed.
The Cairo Governor added that Rosa Al-Youssef was and will remain a symbol of strength and leadership, pointing out that what distinguished her throughout her long history was her ability to maintain her authentic journalistic identity despite changing times. And generations, and its continued provision of sophisticated content that respects the mind of the reader and expresses the pulse of the Egyptian street, without being carried away by sensationalism or narrow interests, to remain a model of purposeful journalism and responsible media.
Dr. Ibrahim Saber stressed that the Egyptian state, under the leadership of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, pays great attention to supporting purposeful national media, in recognition of its vital role in the battle for awareness and building the Egyptian human being, And in appreciation of the role played by the honorable professional media in consolidating the values of belonging and citizenship and supporting the development and construction efforts that the country is witnessing in various fields.
Dr. Ibrahim Saber concluded his speech by affirming that the Rosal Youssef Foundation represents an integral part of Cairo’s memory and its cultural and intellectual history, and that it will remain a living witness to the march of Egyptian consciousness, and an extended bridge between the ancient past and the promising future. Adding: “Today we celebrate an institution that not only recorded history, but created it consciously and sincerely, and remains a beacon of awareness and honesty at a time when the nation needs responsible and constructive media.”
