"Supreme for motherhood and childhood"Looking with "Zero West" Turkish cooperation in the field of sustainability

Istanbul, October 23 / WAM / The Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood and the Turkish Zero West Foundation discussed ways to enhance joint cooperation, especially in terms of supporting the role of children and adolescents in initiatives related to sustainability and environmental protection.

This came during a meeting with His Excellency Al-Reem Abdullah Al-Falasi, Secretary-General of the Council, and His Excellency Samed Agerbash, President of the Foundation, on the sidelines of the Zero West Forum, which was held in the Turkish city of Istanbul.

The meeting reviewed the prospects for bilateral cooperation to find sustainable and innovative solutions to transform the global waste crisis into energy, especially after the UAE launched the “Zero Waste” initiative during the Conference of the Parties “COP28”, with the aim of enhancing efforts to remove carbon resulting from the waste sector, and creating a platform for the circular economy, which reflects the UAE’s commitment to achieving sustainability goals.

Her Excellency Reem Al Falasi stressed the keenness of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood to strengthen constructive partnerships with international institutions concerned with sustainability, including the Zero West Foundation, which has a long history of achievements in this field.

She stressed the importance of adopting initiatives by children and adolescents in the field of sustainability and nature preservation for a safe future for future generations, and encouraging them to represent their countries in international dialogue platforms, to increase their awareness of environmental issues.

For his part, His Excellency Samed Agerbash expressed their aspiration to cooperate with the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood and invest in environmental initiatives, to spread the culture of environmental conservation and enhance the awareness of children and adolescents about the principles of sustainability and innovative solutions.
