The Al Musaibi brothers qualify for the round of 32 in the UAE International Table Tennis Championship

The UAE table tennis team players, the two brothers Mohammed and Ahmed Al Musaibi, qualified for the round of 32 for the under-15 category in the UAE International Youth and Junior Championship, hosted by the Shabab Al Ahli Club hall in Al Mamzar, with the participation of 265 male and female players from 26 countries.
Muhammad Al-Musaibi qualified after topping the seventh group after defeating Kazakh Sultan Seriki and Kuwaiti Aqeel Al-Mutawa, while his brother Ahmed qualified by topping the third group by defeating Kuwaiti Khaled Al-Dulaimi and Qatari Iyad Jameel, while Rashid Saeed was eliminated from the group stage after occupying third place.
The third day of the tournament witnessed the coronation of the winners in the U-13 and U-17 categories, as Indonesian Muhammad Junindra won the U-17 youth title by defeating Nikita Rybakov (3-0), while Indian Kavya Bhatt won the female category title at the expense of Zlata Terekhova (3-0).
In the under-13 category, Matvey Manankov (playing under the IBF flag) won the boys’ title after defeating India’s Pratik Tolsani (3-0), while CJ Chen from Chinese Taipei won the women’s title by defeating Tanishka Kalbhairav (3-0).
The coronation ceremony was attended by members of the Federation’s Board of Directors: Ammar Khalaf Al Shamsi, Sheikha Al Shamsi, Rashid Abdul Hamid (Director of National Teams), and Hassan Al Zarouni (Secretary General and Director of the Championship).
Sheikha Al Shamsi confirmed that the tournament has become one of the important stations on the International Federation’s agenda, noting that the current edition set a record in the number of participants and classifications. She said in press statements: “The success of the organization is not new to the Emirates, which possesses great competencies and experience in hosting international events.”
She added, “The Federation is working to expand the base of practitioners by introducing the game to schools in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and the School Sports Federation, stressing that the future is promising thanks to the great interest in the age groups and the organization of annual tournaments of this size.”
