Egypt warns against non-implementation of the terms of the Sharm El-Sheikh Agreement and condemns attempts to impose Israeli sovereignty over the occupied West Bank

Egypt’s permanent representative to the UN Security Council, Ambassador Osama Abdel-Khaleq, warned of non-implementation of the provisions contained in the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Agreement, aimed at establishing a ceasefire and achieving stability in the region.
Abdel-Khaleq stressed, during his speech before the Security Council session on the situation in the Middle East, that Egypt condemns the Israeli Knesset’s approval of two draft laws to impose so-called Israeli sovereignty over the West Bank.
He indicated that Egypt welcomes the advisory opinion issued by the International Court of Justice, which affirmed international law’s rejection of any attempts to displace or starve the Palestinian people, stressing that this is an important step to support legitimate Palestinian rights.
He stressed Ambassador Abdel-Khaleq emphasized the inevitability of empowering the Palestinian people with their inalienable rights, foremost of which is their right to establish their independent state, pointing out that achieving peace in the region requires Israel’s withdrawal from all occupied Arab territories.
He also reaffirmed Egypt’s solidarity with Syria and Lebanon in protecting their legitimate rights and preserving Their lands.
