The National Guard joins the International Organization of Gendarmes and Police with Military Status (FIEP)

Abu Dhabi, 24 October / WAM / The National Guard joined the International Organization of Gendarmes and Military Police (FIEP), during the organization’s summit hosted by the French Republic in the capital, Paris, during the period from 20 to 23 October 2025, in the presence of French Interior Minister Laurent Nunez, and with the participation of 22 countries.

The National Guard delegation, headed by Major General Saleh Mohammed bin Mejren Al Ameri, Commander of the National Guard, participated in the summit. He stressed in his speech that the National Guard is a major part of the state’s national security system, referring to the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, to strengthen international cooperation and highlight the humanitarian role alongside the security role of the Guard.

The National Guard participated in the largest humanitarian operation to relieve the residents of Gaza as part of Operation “Gallant Knight 3,” in which UAE aid represented about 45% of total international aid.

The summit witnessed widespread welcome from member states for the inclusion of the UAE National Guard, in a step that reflects the country’s growing presence in the security and military scenes at the international level.

Major General Saleh Mohammed bin Mejren Al Ameri stressed that this accession will contribute to confronting cross-border security challenges, such as terrorism, organized crime and illegal immigration, in a way that supports regional and international security and stability.
