Government: The first Saturday of November is an official holiday coinciding with the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum

Counselor Mohamed Al-Homsani, the official spokesman for the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, stated that in light of the meeting held by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, today, which was attended by Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, Sherif Fathi, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, and Mohamed Al-Saadi, member of the Board of Directors of the United Media Services Company, general supervisor of the opening ceremony of the Grand Egyptian Museum; To follow up on the ongoing preparations for organizing the major celebration that will be held on the occasion of the opening of the museum, scheduled for the first of next November, His Excellency Mr. President directed that this day be an official holiday in the country.
The official spokesman explained that, accordingly, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, decided that Saturday, the first of November 2025, would be an official paid holiday for workers in ministries and departments. Governmental bodies, public bodies, local administration units, public sector companies, and public business sector companies.
Counsel Muhammad Al-Homsani added: The decision to leave comes under the directives of the President; So that the relevant state agencies and authorities can organize the movements of foreign delegations participating in the major celebration that will be held for this great event smoothly and easily, especially since it is expected that a large number of kings, heads of state, and officials of a number of countries will participate, in addition to prominent senior figures, and also to provide the opportunity for Egyptians to follow the celebration activities that the whole world is anticipating.
