Launch of the third national vaccination campaign against foot-and-mouth disease and Rift Valley fever
Giza Governorate announced the launch of the third national vaccination campaign against foot-and-mouth disease and Rift Valley fever, starting today, Saturday, October 25, 2025, in all centers, cities and villages of the governorate, within the framework of the plan of the General Authority for Veterinary Services at the Ministry of Agriculture aimed at preserving livestock and strengthening efforts to prevent epidemic diseases.
Engineer Adel El-Naggar, Governor, confirmed Giza, that the campaign comes within the framework of the state’s continued efforts to develop and protect livestock, and provide the necessary vaccinations to achieve a safe food environment and preserve the health of citizens.
The governor explained that the doctors of the Veterinary Medicine Directorate in Giza, in cooperation with the General Authority for Veterinary Services, made a field visit to the vaccination committees to ensure their readiness and receipt of all required supplies and vaccinations, With an emphasis on commitment to applying biosecurity requirements during the implementation of vaccination work. Guidance and awareness programs have also been implemented to familiarize breeders with the importance of vaccination, the seriousness of the targeted diseases, and ways to prevent them.
Giza Governorate calls on all breeders and farm owners to cooperate with veterinary vaccination teams to ensure that livestock are protected from the threat of epidemic diseases, in a way that benefits the local economy and community health.
