"Wolverine" Light heavyweight champion with a championship "Power slab" In Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi, October 25 / WAM / The fighter Wolverine was crowned champion of the “Power Slab 16” light heavyweight championship, during the competitions currently being held at “Space 42 Arena” within Abu Dhabi Challenge Week.
Wolverine’s coronation came after he defeated his opponent Klingbeel by split decision in the decisive extra round (57-56 Klingbeel, 57-56 Wolverine, 57-56 Wolverine) – the first decisive extra round in a title fight in the history of the Power Slab.
Dana White, President of the UFC, praised the fight and described it as the best fight in the history of the tournament, as Wolverine strengthened its lead in its category, while the fights demonstrated the strength, accuracy and capabilities of both competitors.
In the co-main event, McKinney “Big Mac” Manu (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) defeated Vasiliy “Dumpling” Kamotsky by unanimous decision.
With the conclusion of the “Power Slab 16” events, all eyes will turn to the “UFC 321: Aspinall vs. Gunn” tournament, which will be held tonight at the Etihad Arena on Yas Island.
