What happened in front of Baniyas is strange and unbelievable

Serbian Slavisa Jokanovic, coach of the Al-Nasr team, expressed his strong dissatisfaction with the performance his players gave against Baniyas with two goals to none, in the round of 16 of the President’s Cup, stressing that what happened in the match was “a strange matter for which there is no explanation.”

“Honestly, I don’t know what to say,” Jokanovic said after the match. The players did not show anything significant on the field, nor did they present any offensive form that would show that we have a team that wants to win. Luca was gone, and victory was gone with him.”

He added: “It is true that Luca is an important player, but he is not the entire team. Football is a team game, not an individual game, and what happened today is unbelievable. I could not find any explanation for the lackluster performance I witnessed in all the lines.”

The Serbian coach continued, saying: “I am not looking for excuses, and I cannot pin the loss on the absence of one player. This is not a game of tennis or boxing. Rather, we have an entire team that had to perform at a level befitting the name of Al-Nasr Club.”

Jokanovic concluded his statements by saying: “I bear full responsibility, and I will work to analyze what happened to find out the real reasons behind this poor appearance. It is difficult to accept leaving the tournament in this way, but we have to face reality and start working to correct the mistakes quickly.”

Jokanovic’s statements came after the painful exit of the “Dean” from the cup, leaving the tournament in the same round for the second year in a row, after a modest performance that raised questions from Al-Nasr fans about the team’s future in the current season.
