Engineer Adel Al-Najjar, Governor of Giza, confirmed that the Service and Public Transport Agency, headed by Major General Hazem Lashin, Head of the Public Transport Authority in Giza, and Major Fawzi Gad, Deputy Head of the Public Transport Authority in Giza, as well as the traffic campaigns, were able to detect 40 various violations, which included cutting traffic lines, collecting excessive fares, and parking in random parking lots, during four surprise inspection campaigns. They were implemented since the early hours of the morning in the areas of Al-Libini Faisal and the school complex on Al-Tayyar Fikri Street in Imbaba.
The governor indicated that these campaigns come within the framework of careful daily monitoring of the extent of drivers’ commitment to the new fares and official itineraries and to firmly confront any attempts to exploit citizens or disrupt traffic. The campaigns were carried out under the leadership of Major General Hazem Lashin, Head of the Service and Public Transport Authority, and in coordination with the General Traffic Department. The efforts resulted in the seizure of a number of violating cars, and the dismantling of two random parking lots, one in front of the Awlad Rajab supermarket in Al-Libini Faisal, and the other in the school complex in Imbaba, with the seizure of three violating cars and the necessary legal measures being taken.
Two campaigns were also formed immediately upon receiving complaints from citizens, under the direct guidance of the Governor of Giza, Engineer Adel Al-Najjar, who stressed the speed of intervention to remove random parking spaces that obstruct traffic and cause congestion on the roads.
The governor stressed that citizens’ complaints are heard. With the highest priority, he pointed out that the governorate’s operations room and the unified government complaints portal receive reports around the clock and are immediately transferred to the competent authority for urgent intervention and taking the necessary measures. Ensuring the comfort of citizens and not being exploited, while fully adhering to the official tariff.
