ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon wins the bronze award with a summit "Leaders" In London

Abu Dhabi, October 27 / WAM / The Abu Dhabi Sports Council announced that the sixth edition of the ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon 2024 received the Bronze Award in the “Best Crowd Engagement Initiative” category during the International Sports Leadership Conference (LEADERS), which was held in the British capital, London.
The Council confirmed in a statement today that receiving the award came in recognition of the great success achieved by the event in developing the fans’ experience and enhancing community interaction, which reflects its status as one of the most prominent running races in the region and the world.
Since its inception, the marathon has been organized annually by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council in cooperation with ADNOC, and has become one of the most prominent sporting events in the capital and the most attractive for participants from inside and outside the country.
The 2024 edition witnessed the participation of more than 33,000 runners, male and female, from various parts of the world, including an elite group of professional runners, amateurs, and families, in various races suitable for all levels, from full marathons to recreational races for families.
The last edition was based on the concepts of comprehensiveness, innovation and sustainability, as the marathon presented qualitative initiatives in reducing plastic waste, managing environmental sustainability, and monitoring the carbon footprint, in addition to community programs in schools and interactive campaigns through social media.
His Excellency Talal Mustafa Al Hashemi, Executive Director of the Events Sector at the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, confirmed that winning this international award represents a new achievement for sports in Abu Dhabi.
He expressed his pride in the ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon receiving the award during the Sports Leadership Conference, which came as a culmination of the joint efforts between the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, our partners in ADNOC, and all supporting parties, noting that this achievement reflects the continued commitment to providing a pioneering sports experience that puts everyone at the heart of the event, and combines outstanding sports performance, community participation, and sustainability.
