A 6.5 magnitude earthquake strikes the Leeward Islands overlooking the Caribbean Sea

The German Research Center for Geological Sciences announced today, Monday, that a 6.5-magnitude earthquake struck the Leeward Islands, one of the islands overlooking the Caribbean Sea.

The center stated – in a brief statement reported by Reuters news agency – that the earthquake was at a depth of 10 kilometers.
