المملكة: "Umm Al-Qura" Establishes an international advisory board to support innovation and global rankings
The International Advisory Council of Umm Al-Qura University held its first session, headed by the University President, Prof. Dr. Prepared by Al Madhab, in the presence of an elite group of Global academic and scientific leaders, at the university’s headquarters in Mecca.
During the session, the Council reviewed the university’s strategic plan And future development axes in the areas of research, innovation, education, and investment in knowledge, in addition to examining ways to enhance the university’s position in international rankings, and building international academic and research partnerships that contribute to improving the university’s reputation and its outcomes.
An important step towards institutional excellence
The university president stressed in his speech that the formation of the international advisory council represents a qualitative step in the university’s march towards institutional excellence, indicating that the council comes as a continuation of its efforts. In adopting the best international university practices, and in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 in developing University education and scientific research and enhancing the competitiveness of Saudi universities globally.
For their part, the members of the Council appreciated the academic and research achievements the university has achieved over the past years, especially in the areas of supporting innovation, business governance, intellectual property, and endowment investment, in addition to opening 36 new academic programs that are compatible with the requirements of the labor market. The members stressed the importance of activating international partnerships and transferring knowledge in order to enhance the university’s position in global performance indicators.
At the conclusion of the council’s work, the members visited Wadi Makkah Technology Company and its subsidiaries, and were briefed on the university’s experience in technical projects and knowledge products, praising the university’s development in supporting the innovation and entrepreneurship system.
