The UAE concludes its participation in the International Dates Forum in Morocco

Rabat, November 2, 2017 – The UAE concluded its participation in the activities of the fourteenth session of the International Dates Forum, which was held in the Moroccan city of Erfoud under the patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, King of the Kingdom of Morocco, during the period from October 29 to November 2, under the slogan “Sustainable management of water resources: the basis for the development of date palms and oases.”
The forum was organized by the International Date Forum Association and the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development, Water and Forests in the sisterly Kingdom of Morocco, with broad participation from agricultural and research institutions concerned with palm cultivation and date production.
Over the course of its days, the conference witnessed a prominent presence of officials, including His Excellency Ahmed Al Bouari, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development, Water and Forests of the Kingdom of Morocco, and His Excellency Professor Dr. Abdel Wahab Al Bukhari Zaid, Secretary General of the Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation of the Zayed Humanitarian Legacy Foundation at the Presidential Office, which has participated in the forum since its establishment in 2010 and for the fourteenth year in a row.
His Excellency Professor Dr. Abdul Wahab Al-Bukhari Zaid expressed his sincere appreciation and pride in the outstanding success and high-level organization witnessed by the forum, which embodied the spirit of cooperation and knowledge exchange between the participating countries, and contributed to highlighting the great developments witnessed by the date sector in the region and the world.
He also expressed his pride in the UAE Pavilion winning the Best Pavilion Award for the 14th year in a row, which is a well-deserved achievement that reflects the excellence and innovation the UAE has achieved in the field of agriculture and date production, thanks to the wise vision and continuous support of the wise leadership, and the efforts of national institutions that have made UAE dates a global model of quality and excellence.
