المملكة: Performing the first successful partial corneal transplant at King Salman Hospital


The team of the Center of Excellence for Medicine and Eye SurgeryAt King Salman Hospital, a member of the First Riyadh Health Cluster, the first partial corneal transplant operation was performed on a patient who had suffered from poor vision for many years, and the operation was crowned with success.

The operation was conducted under the leadership of Dr. Muhammad Al-Anazi, Consultant in Medicine and Surgery Cornea, who explained that this type of surgery is considered a precise and advanced procedure, as the damaged part of the cornea is replaced while preserving healthy tissue, which contributes to reducing complications, accelerating recovery, and clearly improving the quality of vision.

Dr. Al-Anazi also appreciated the efforts of the participating medical team of consultants, technicians, and nurses, pointing out that this success came as a result of the integration of teamwork and the continuous qualification of the health personnel at the center.

The director of the Center of Excellence for Eyes confirmed that this step enhances the center’s journey in expanding the scope of highly specialized specialized services, and reflects the efficiency of the medical team at King Salman Hospital.
