Minister of Supply: Immediate deterrent measures against any price manipulation of petroleum products

 Dr. Sherif Farouk, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, affirmed that there will be no leniency or leniency with any party or individual proven to be involved in price manipulation or illegal trading in petroleum products or butane cylinders, saying that the Ministry will take immediate deterrent measures against anyone who tries to harm the citizen’s interest or tamper with the trading system, whether they are owners of warehouses, gas stations, or distributors.

This came during The Minister of Supply and Internal Trade met with Hassan Nasr, Head of the Petroleum Products Division of the General Federation of Chambers of Commerce, at the Ministry’s headquarters; To discuss the mechanisms and proposals of the Division in the field of marketing petroleum products, improving the quality of services provided to citizens, and controlling prices.

 

Dr. Sherif Farouk stressed the importance of permanent coordination between the Ministry and the General Federation of Chambers of Commerce and activating direct channels of communication with the public, ensuring the speedy handling of any complaints or obstacles that the system may face, stressing that this cooperation represents a basic foundation for the stability of the petroleum products market and achieving the interest of the citizen, and that the prestige of the state will be imposed by force of law. Maintaining market stability and providing the needs of citizens is a national responsibility with no room for complacency or complacency.

 

The Minister of Supply also stressed that the Ministry is continuing to take all measures to ensure the easy availability of butane cylinders to citizens, indicating that strict control and continuous coordination with the concerned authorities are the true guarantee of market stability and consumer protection.

 

During the meeting, the Minister listened to the Division delegation about the most important matters. The challenges facing the sector, stressing the importance of intensifying supervision over markets, distribution outlets, gas stations and warehouses, and ensuring the regular flow of cylinders to consumers, whether home or commercial, especially during peak periods, as well as monitoring the quality of service provided and confronting any illegal practices in trading cylinders or petroleum materials.
